Weekly Email January 23, 2016

Hello dear Unity friends,

Happy Saturday.  Wow, as we were driving back from the cities last night, the moon-light was so beautiful on the snow covered country.  I do love living here!

Please hold Monique Waters and her family in your prayers, as her mother made her transition this past weekend.  The funeral is scheduled for Thursday in the cities.

The front door key-box code is changing tomorrow, so “reply” or get the new code from me.

This Sunday is going to be very fun.  During our Celebration Service, we will be installing new members into Unity, which is one of my favorite things to do.

Immediately after our service, we will be holding our USC Annual Meeting.   We will be celebrating our accomplishments from 2015, visioning for 2016, and electing new board members.  We would love for all congregants to attend.  After the meeting, following tradition, we have a group reservation at Drakes Fine Food and Spirits in Sartell for their “all you can eat” breakfast.

Please go to our website (www.UnitySpiritualCenterCM.org) and click on the link, on the front page, and register a time slot to have your (your family’s) picture taken for our new directory.  Lifetouch will be at our center on Friday, February 5th, and Saturday, the 6th.  I’m seeing all your smiling faces in our new directory.  We can also help you to sign up this Sunday.

Wanda and I will be facilitating a new “12 Powers” class on 6 Sundays, starting January 31st, at noon.  Please sign up in the foyer.  More information below.

January 31st is “Beach Sunday” and we will be holding a luau pot-luck and “spam cook-off.”  So pull out those flip-flops and shorts and I’ll turn the heat up just a bit higher than usual.  Bring your favorite spam recipe or another dish to share.

We are seeking a small group of volunteers to energize, update, stock and staff our Gift/Book Store.   We are seeking volunteers to join the Building Cleaning Team so members can have a once every two months rotation.  While I’m thinking of it, we also could use some more volunteers to clear our sidewalk of snow.  Please sign up in the foyer or “reply” if any of these opportunities are of interest to you.

If you are interested in becoming a Unity Chaplain, there is going to be a weekend training March 3rd & 4th. Please “reply” or talk to Kathy Horner-Carlson or Terrie Wagner (our chaplains) if you are interested.

There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer (or call the office) for those interested in Prosperity Plus II. I will be calling those signed up this week so we can pick the perfect day and time.

Be sure and turn in your “volunteer hours” sheets in the box in the foyer.

We are forming a “Raffle Committee” for 2016 and you can sign up in the foyer to be part of that committee.

Have a fabulous weekend and I look forward to seeing you this Sunday.

Love and abundant blessings,

What’s Happening- July 28th Edition

Hello dear Unity friends,

Happy Wednesday!  I wanted to connect with you earlier this week as we have such great events happening.

I just talked with Julie Rust and she has arrived from Nashville!  She will be sharing her music and story at our Wonderful Wednesday Celebration Service.  Then she, along with her husband, Rusty, will be performing in concert Thursday evening at 7 p.m.  The concert is being offered on a $10 love offering basis, and there will be a fun “build your own ice-cream Sunday” intermission.  More information about Julie below.

Then come back to the center Friday evening and join Jane and Erin as they facilitate Moon Drumming at 7 p.m. in the Earth Journey Room.

Just a reminder; A Course in Miracles will be cancelled this week due to the concert.

We will be setting up for our August 8th Garage Sale starting this coming Sunday.  If you have time to help set up next Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, please sign up in the foyer or call the office.  We are going to have fun as we price our larger items, etc.  We are also looking for hosts on the 8th as well.  You can bring in your used items this week between noon and 4 p.m. (W-F), 6:30 – 8 p.m. (W-F) and with you on Sunday (9 – noon).  You can also bring items next week…I’ll let you know those hours later.

This will be our last Sunday to check out the new additions to our Used Book Sale because after the garage sale, we are moving any remaining books on to the VA etc.

There is still time to sign up to join our group that is heading to Unity Village, on August 20th, for a fabulous retreat.  More information below.

I was talking with Rev. Pat, from Unity Minneapolis, and he shared with me that over 120 congregants take part in their “automatic giving” program.  I want to invite any of you who would like to support our center when you are absent, or simply want an easy method to give, to take an automatic giving form (in the foyer) and you can designate any amount and frequency.  If you have any questions, please talk to our treasurer, Dan Haskamp.  We so appreciate your positive response to our ‘Generosity Initiative” and I know that you are being blessed as you so bless us.

Have a fabulous week, and I look forward to seeing you at one or all of our upcoming events.

Love and abundant blessings,

What’s Happening At Unity – April 1st

Hello dear Unity friends,
Happy “April Fools” Day everyone.  May any jokes be jolly.
Tonight, Wednesday, at 6 p.m., join Pat T and others as they make plans for our April “Earth Week/Day pot-luck/party on the 19th.  This is going to be very fun!
Then after the planning meeting, you can join the “Crochet Peace” gathering, facilitated by Terrie Wagner, which is meeting at 7 p.m.  Knitters are welcome too.  😀
Jane and Erin will be facilitating “Moon Drumming” this coming Friday, the 3rd, at 7 p.m.  As always, there will be extra drums.
We will be holding a children’s Easter Egg Hunt this Sunday. Weather permitting, it will be outdoors.
You can order your organic “Seeds and Bulbs” at the table in the foyer through April 19th. If you don’t have a garden and you would like to participate in this fundraiser, the seeds and bulbs make great gifts and/or could be planted in our Unity gardens.
I thank everyone who has already “bought” seeds at our “Seeding the Bookstore” display under the vision board.
We will be holding a brief “Unity Expo” planning meeting this coming Sunday immediately following our service.  So grab a cup of coffee and join us in the social hall.  More information below.
Mary Short is facilitating a very special one-evening “ Kick your Cravings to the Curb” Class on Monday, April 27th, at 6:30 p.m.  Eliminate food cravings by using EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), also known as “Tapping”.  You can sign up for this great class in the foyer or call the office.  More information below.
Recently, it was suggested that I should invite congregants to donate their “tax returns” to our center.  What a great “flowing” idea!  I see our balance sheet returned to the black/green.
We will begin our “Used Book” sale starting May 16th, so you can start gathering/clearing out your used books and bring them to the center starting May 3rd.
I want to give you some dates to mark in your April calendars:
April 3 – Moon Drumming, 7 p.m.
April 5 – Expo Planning Meeting, 11:15 a.m.
April 8 – Healing Service, 7:30 p.m.

Kick your Cravings to the Curb” Class
Monday, April 27, at 6:30 p.m.
Facilitated by Mary Short
Eliminate food cravings by using EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), also known as “Tapping”.
Would you like to take control of your food cravings instead of them controlling you? Join Mary Short in eliminating food cravings by using EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique).  By tapping on acupuncture points, you are able to release the energy associated with the craving and therefore dissolve the desire for the craving.

Dennis Warner – Guest Speaker

DennisWarnerThank you, Dennis Warner for filling in for Rev. Barbara this morning. Your uplifting, positive energy filled the room. We laughed, we sang, we were uplifted by your words of wisdom. It was a great day. I am, I am, I am. And so it is!

I AM One with God – I AM One with Good.

I AM Protected at all times – I AM, I AM, I AM

I AM the Peaceful Child of God – I AM, I AM, I AM

I AM the Prosperous Child of God – I AM, I AM, I AM

I AM the Healthy Child of God – I AM, I AM, I AM

I AM the Happy Child of God – I AM, I AM, I AM

I AM the Forgiving and the Forgiven Child of God – I AM, I AM, I AM

I AM the Loved and the Loving Child of God – I AM, I AM, I AM

I AM the Radiant Child of God – I AM, I AM, I AM

I AM the Grateful Child of God – I AM, I AM, I AM

Repeat each line three times. I like to say these with a smile, projecting positive energy. Some days I add new ones depending on what speaks to me. Originally, I learned these from Catherine Ponder but over the years have modified it somewhat.
