What is Unity?

Unity can be described as culturally Christian and spiritually open. We offer a positive, practical, progressive approach to Christianity based on the teachings of Jesus and the power of prayer. Unity honors the universal truths in all religions and respects each person’s right to choose a spiritual path.

Unity - Five Basic Principles

Our mission

We are a vibrant, inclusive community of spiritually centered people empowering each other to celebrate love, peace, joy and abundance in all.

The birthplace of Unity

Unity began in the 1880s when founders Charles and Myrtle Fillmore sought healing by changing their ideas about God and themselves. Charles Fillmore called Unity “practical Christianity” because Unity explores how to use Jesus’s teachings to learn about our higher selves and live our daily lives in a more peaceful, healthy and abundant way. Incidentally, our spiritual center is located just blocks from the Mississippi River and the birthplace of Charles Fillmore. In our sacred space, his vision comes full circle.
